Walter Week 20 and the Nursery (under construction)

Walter's October Updates!

Greetings and Good Evening Everyone!

It’s been quite awhile since our last post and we have lots of Walter updates to share with you.

A big focus for us as of late has been converting the second bedroom to a nursery, which involved some heavy lifting, some moving and some major closet cleaning. We are lucky enough to work with some professional painters who are eager to help Brian with the task of painting the nursery next week. As we are going with a jungle theme, we are painting the nursery a light green with a darker green wall accent. Below you will find some before pictures of the nursery. We’ll be sure to post some photos after the paint job. We are so excited to do this as it will be the first step in officially getting the nursery underway. Furniture will be coming in two weeks, so we hope to provide frequent updates to our work in progress and will be excited to see Gram when we pick up the furniture!

We thought that registering for our wedding was overwhelming……until we started our baby registry a couple of weeks ago! Between the 45 different types of bottles and 640 types of diapers, we were a bit overwhelmed at first, but were able to tackle the majority of our registry. We worked right up until the store closed J Feel free to check out our registry at Babies R Us www.babiesrus.com. Thanks to Nana and Papa for getting a head start on it! If you have any advice to add on amazing registry items that we are missing, let us know!

As for work, we are keeping busy, but are slowly starting to sink into the rhythm of the school year. October has been a busy month for Walter—between going to a Colts game, celebrating Nana’s birthday, celebrating Aunt Brynn getting engaged and running (or really walking) a 5K, it’s been a busy month. This week has been especially busy as I am about 99% sure I felt Walter move for the first time on Tuesday.. I was walking home from work and all of a sudden, I thought I was feeling a hunger pain—but then it felt like almost like fingertips moving up and down underneath my belly button. Again, pretty sure that this was Walter, but haven’t felt it since. We were so excited. Aunt Brynn got engaged on Thursday night, which is very exciting! We could not be happier for her and her fiancĂ© Christian. We capped off the week last night by participating in the Human Race sponsored by Nike. Brian, Walter and I all walked a 5K in what started out as pouring rain, but turned into a beautiful, cloudless evening. We saw lots of moms doing the walk with strollers in tow, so hopefully we can do it again as a family next year.

Brian has been such an excellent partner throughout this entire experience. I could not have asked for anyone more wonderful to share this with. He has been such a trooper--and such a huge help. We are tearing through baby books trying to soak everything up that we can about Walter's arrival and he's been reading to Walter before bedtime. He's the best!

Next to tackle: pre-natal care classes, finding a pediatrician, and moving baby furniture! More updates to come in the very near future!

Also below is my growing tummy. We hit the half way mark this week—I can’t believe that we are almost at 21 weeks. I'm feeling great and I am so thankful to have my energy back! I'm trying to enjoy it before it's gone again next trimester. It seems so far off, but March will be here before we know it!

Love to all!
